The 10th Community of Users Meeting on Secure , Safe and Resilient Societies took place between 5 - 8 March 2018 in Brussels,organised by the European Commission - DG HOME.
Christoph Amelunxen from the University of Paderborn presented "Herausforderungen beim MANV in CBRN-Lagen - Technologien und Workshopergebnisse" ("Mass-Casualty Incident Challenges in CBRN - Technologies and Workshop Results") at the annual conference of the VGBF in Salzburg, Austria.
As part of the preparartions for the FTX FOCUS, HMOD conducted a rehearsal of the exercise in Athens from the 20th to the 23rd of February.
The purpose of the rehearsal was to facilitate the smooth transition from the planning to the execution phase of the field exercise.
Paul Thomas presented ‘Triage by Breath Analysis’ a joint paper with LU and UEDIN at the International Workshop on Analysis of Chemical Warfare Agents to mark the 20th Anniversary of the CWC in Helsinki.
VERIFIN is holding this international workshop that will introduce the New Blue Book 2017 that outlines the Recommended Operating Procedures for the Chemical Weapons Convention-related analysis in collaboration with expert laboratories working in the field.
The TOXI-triage project was presented to the Community of Users on Safe, Secure and Resilient societies. This is the second time that project is introduced to the CoU members, the first one was at the 5th meeting in October 2016.

Michael Eddleston, from the University of Edimburg, presented TOXI-triage to about 45 clinicians and specialists in poison information who work in UK.
The meeting was organised by the National Poisons Information Service (NPIS), in Newcastle upon Tyne, on 5-6 October 2017.
The University of Jyväskylä presented TOXI-triage project at the European Researchers' Night on Friday 29 September 2017.
TOXI-triage participated in the Resilience Conference 2017, on 20-21 September: ‘Responding to Complex Threats: Floods, Blackouts,and Hybrid Attacks’.
Paul Thomas presented TOXI-triage in the Session ‘Research Methodological Approaches’ and the TOXI-triage display generated interest in the project.
What is the triage process and how does it change in the case of a CBRN event? How to behave in the hot zone? What is needed to get a full operational picture as a first responder ambulance crew or firefighter in full protective gear? How can this be enhanced by TOXI-triage technology? These are some of the issues which will be addressed.
A TOXI-triage operational specifications workshop took place in HMOD premises in Athens on the 3rd of July.
The workshop was attended by many practicionners from Greek military and civil protection organisations. The objectives of the workshop were:
