Security Research Event 2018

On 5th and 6th December TOXI-triage consortium attended the Security Research Event (SRE) in Brussels. This event has been jointly organized by the European Commission and the Austrian Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology.
The theme this year was ‘Making Europe a safer place: demonstrating the impact of EU funded security research’. Results of EU funding research and European innovation on:

  • Border management,
  • Citizens awareness ,
  • Cybercrime,
  • Protection of public spaces,
  • Maritime Security,
  • Disaster resilient societies,
  • Terrorism, and
  • Radicalisation

were presented to a wide range of stakeholders encompassing representatives of organisations related to different security domains such as research, industry, public security and security policies. The event gathered around 800 participants.

TOXI-triage exhibited the outcomes of three years of research on 'Disaster resilient societies', specifically on the topics of breath analysis, data integration, stand-off and on-site CBRN detection, casualty tagging and social media analytics.
